As You know I love adventures and challenges, I was so excited to hear that the world’s biggest cross-country obstacle race is coming to South Africa next month.
The first FISHERMAN’S FRIEND StrongmanRun, will be held on the 1 October 2016. This is the first time this event, known as the ‘strongest race of all time’ will be held outside of Europe.
This cross-country-obstacle-race includes swimming, climbing and crawling obstacles. You can enter as a team or individually (you can even dress up and perhaps compete as your favorite superhero!)
This race will take place at Paarl Rock with three distances: 8km with 12 obstacles, 14km with 20 obstacles and 21km with 25 obstacles. There is a race for school learners to participate as well as a separate kids event for ages 4-12. What I loved about this race in SA is race that is catering for all fitness levels and ages.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and medal and the overall male and female winners in the 21km race get to compete in the 10th anniversary of FISHERMAN’S FRIEND StrongmanRun 2017 in Germany. www.strongmanrun.co.za
To add to the entertainment of the weekend, Prime Circle will head the line-up to the Build Courage event concert on Friday 30 September. Tickets are R160 for adults and R80 for children under 13 and available on iTickets.
I’m running a competition on Twitter:
ONE lucky winner stands the chance to win:
· 1x branded Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun hoodie
· 2x race entries for either the 8km or 14km
Send a tweet to @liezelv & @StrongmanRunSA using the #StrongmanRunSA, tell us what date the FISHERMAN’S FRIEND StrongmanRun is taking place in SA.
T&C’s appy. Competition Closes 18 September 2016 at noon.
